A year talking to women founders

Spending a year interviewing has been one of the most transformative and phenomenal experience for me!

But it is no fun transforming alone, and sharing is caring and i want to share this with you!

I met and had in depth conversations with a lot of super amazing people:

👉People who can create experiences for others, people who saw issues or gaps and people who went out to do something about it.

🌟And the reason they have been able to do so is because they have been embracing their values, beliefs and strengths – the foundation for a powerhouse!

Multiple Hats of 2023 – Last thoughts and let's connect! Multiple hats

With that, I would like to invite you to look at 2024 with your own lens.

  • Embrace your interest interests and your own my multiple hats; what are yours?
  • Push you to let go of the scripted narrative and  carve your own path – do yourself a favour and “you do you”
  • Please make your unique dent ( and let me know what it is!)

And I want to help you, aspiring change maker, with inspiration and wisdom form others relatable people who juggle a lot, just like you and still went for the leap.

There are a lot of steps and nitty gritty details and steps to go through to run a business but what it takes to start your own business is actually pretty simple.

  • Find your why  because without a strong purpose, you will give up when it gets tough (which it will).  Simon Sinek can guide you through how to do that – go to your bookshelf and get “Find your Why”
  • Grit. Perseverance is the only way forward. Farther on your bookshelf,  “The power of passion and perseverance by Angela Duckworth whose research shows that Gritt and a growth mindset are the strongest predictor to success – not your IQ
  • Audacity, take action! My favourite go to for getting out of my head and into action is Lison Mage. “Act before you overthink”  (listen to episode 2!)

And as we are all work in progress, the earlier you address some of the hurdles, the faster you will step into your power.

Perfectionism: Let it go!

Even Barbie and Ken did this year so it is your turn. ”But I have High standards” I hear you say. But let’s not confuse high standards with actual added value.

One of the most powerful lens I was given is ” what level, for what purpose” – does your standards align with the value it delivers and does it make sense in context of the purpose it serve?

Chances is are, your high standard do not serve you and that you can line up with the pile of skeletons of people with high standards who could not get anything done.

Start where you can! And improve from there.

To work on your perfectionist dilemma, shake it off with ” The Gift of Imperfection” by Brenee Brown.

When I say you do you, I know it takes a whole journey to get through what is actually “You”.

Not that simple, not an overnight answer ( weird eh?).

Exploration is the only way to figure it out.

A little inspiration and a how to guide with:

The Power of Onlyness by Nilofer Merchant . She gives you so many examples of real people who have found what makes them unique – I trust this will trigger thoughts on how only you can make this special dent in the world.

And a cool step by step guide, “There Has To Be More” by Rachel Service, a step by step audit of yourself and how to get more of what you want.

And for those of you who need to de-risk or be hybrids –

Read “This Working Life” by Lisa Leong and Monique Ross to find how you can experiment with a portfolio career.

This can be a transition to your YOU V2 or a hybrid for life!

And for Multiple Hats In 2024,

There will be more STEMM founders, charity entrepreneurship impacting the lives of so many  and special episodes with incubators, accelerators, VCs, and more.

My ask to you? Let’s be a community and turn this into a larger conversation. What’s your take on all these stories, what resonate? What do you want more of? Who would you like to hear from.

Tell me and I will get it out!
